On 28^th of January, there were formal farewell with unit of soldiers, who retired or were moved to other units. Their profiles are in “Farewell with unit” chapter.

The Polish Army takes place in 18^th Final of Big Orchestra of Christmas Help for the needy. Everything what we have to offer is  to come true people’s dreams, people who desire military adventure and big dose of adrenaline. To be jet pilot, to jump out with parachute, to drive heavy tank in boggy terrain or to be invisible ranger this is children’s dreams. Dream, which remains  unrivalled desire only. In this year, the Polish Army has prepared priceless attraction, which everybody can enjoy to participate in auctions. The Minister of Defence Mr. Klich gave briefcase made with camel’s leather and produced by Chad craftsmen. The Minister got this briefcase from general Moussa Mahahat Djoui  ( governor of Wadi Fira region) during his visit in  Polish contingent of the Army MINURCAT in Chad.

On 4^th January 2010,  commander of the 1^st Tactical Wing opened new training year in our unit and 1^st tactical squadron “Warszawa”. In his speech, general Rutkowski outlined the main tasks and mission  for all soldiers from 1^st Tactical Wing and units from our garrison especially. This is connected with preparation to Air Policing mission over Baltic States as the NATO Allied Air Forces.

Before Christmas time, commander of the 23^rd Air Force Base col. Robert Cierniak organized Christmas Eve, which all soldiers from 1^st tactical squadron, 2^nd SAR team and civilian workers participated in it. Moreover, representatives of Minsk Mazowiecki garrison took part in that event as well. Col. Cierniak thanked all of as for our duty and effort in realisation of difficult tasks in 2009. He wished us Merry Christmas and happy New Year.
